Ghana to invest $270M in AI Computing Centre, strategy rollout
“Infrastructure is the foundation upon which innovation rests. Ghana will invest $250 million to establish a world-class AI computing center. In addition, government will commit $20 million to support the short to medium term National AI strategy. These investments are bold but necessary,” said President John Dramani Mahama on Friday, April 24, 2026 at the launch of Ghana's National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy. President Mahama explained that the AI Computing Center would be a national research and innovation center for enterprise development. "The initiative forms part of Ghana’s broader efforts to strengthen its digital infrastructure and expand its participation in the global artificial intelligence economy."
